DTU FOTONIK

Centre og projekter

The Danish National Research Foundation supports curiosity-driven frontline research of the highest quality in Denmark. A centre grant is large and flexible, and the basic research centres provide a unique framework for excellent research. DTU Fotonik hosts two basic research centres: Center for Silicon Photonics for Optical Communications (SPOC) that addresses the optical communication infrastructures of the future and Center for Nanophotonics (NanoPhoton), which investigates the interaction between light and semiconductor nanostructures.

Furthermore, DTU hosts the research center NAnophotonics for TErabit Communications (NATEC), which is a Centre of Excellence that is supported by the Villum Kann Rasmussen Foundation. NATEC works with fundamental research on devices based on quantum dots and photonic crystals and their application in terabit communication systems.DTU Fotonik is also a partner in the research Center for Nanostructured Graphene (CNG).

Finally, DTU Fotonik is a part of Quantum DTU, which is the Center for Quantum Technologies with the mission to be an international spearhead in the development of quantum technologies, emphasizing real-life applications of quantum sensing and quantum communication, and cutting-edge education of a new generation of innovative quantum engineers.
